SDC Foundation, along with student volunteers from Doon University, organised Uttarakhand’s first Twin City Waste & Brand Audit at Haridwar and Rishikesh to identify and document the brands contributing the most to plastic pollution in the state. Volunteers gathered plastic garbage from dump sites for the purpose of identifying the major brands responsible for the plastic pollution in the city.
The plastic waste collected and segregated in Rishikesh revealed Paras Milk, Haldirams, Lay’s and Pepsi as major polluters, whereas Lay’s, Haldiram and Bikano were the major polluters in Haridwar.
This event marks SDC’s third brand audit in the state of Uttarakhand.
