For Articles & Briefs
An idea is as good as the people supporting it and building it up. Making ours – Uttarakhand Development Network (UDN) – work for and by the people, we welcome articles, analyses, criticisms, opinions, reports, and reviews from all those who hold Uttarakhand and the Himalayas in their hearts.
In order to help you help us make this network an interactive and enriching one, here are some Submission Guidelines to keep in mind while contributing articles.
What you can write on:
Various facets of development in Uttarakhand – environment and climate change, rural development, national security, energy, health, human rights, regional literature, policies, book reviews, and so on. However, please stick to the basic peg question – why are you writing what you are writing on, and why now?
Editorial Guidelines:

- In case you would like to republish your original UDN article in other publications, the following should be cited with the text: “This article was first published in SDC Foundation’s Uttarakhand Development Network and is republished here with permission.” The original article must be hyperlinked to SDC Foundation’s relevant UDN page where it appeared.

Publishing Policy + Timelines:
- Please be patient once you submit your article. We will inform you about our editorial call within 2-3 days.
- Please be open to the editorial process of tweaking and editing the article to make it more presentable, easier to read, and make for a more compelling read.
- We request authors to please follow our Editorial Guidelines as we might not be able to publish pieces that fail to do so.
- The decision of the editorial team will be final.
- In case we feel that the article needs more than minor tweaking and more rewriting, an editorial team member will get in touch with you and guide you on how to go about it.
- Let’s keep the tone of words civil, polite and one that encourages discussions and constructive criticism.
Happy writing!
