SDC celebrates Gandhi Jayanti with a city-wide Plastic Collection Drive!

October 1, 2024 |

On October 1, 2024, a day before Gandhi Jayanti and Swachh Bharat Day, SDC Foundation organized a large-scale plastic waste collection in Dehradun, focusing on the theme of "Clean Nature and Clean Values." The main objective of this campaign was to raise collective awareness amongst society and students about waste management and to collect plastic waste at a large scale for recycling.

In collaboration with over 40 schools, the campaign encouraged students and teachers to share their thoughts on the importance of cleanliness. They were also encouraged to undertake “Cleanliness Pledges" where participants could commit to keep their surroundings clean.

SDC members expressed gratitude to all local residents, students, and institutions who actively participated in this campaign and made it a success. They hope that such programs will continue in the future, promoting cleanliness and spreading awareness in society.

Schools and institutions that participated in this collection drive included Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Guru Nanak Public School, Vidya Sthal Children Modern Academy, Montessori School, Mahaveer Jain Girls' Inter College, Bhawani Girls' Inter College, Govt.
