Dehradun Smart City Limited, Government of India in partnership with SDC Foundation, launched its first-ever Dehradun wall painting competition,  Doon Rangotsav. The objective of the wall painting competition was to beautify the littered or ill-maintained walls in the city while promoting civic engagement and cleanliness. A total of 28 teams participated in the competition, which commenced on 12 December 2019 and concluded on 29 February 2020. The themes suggested by DSCL were mainly related to cultural heritage, wildlife, and tradition of Uttarakhand. The top three teams were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 75,000 (First Prize), Rs. 50,000 (Second Prize) and Rs. 25,000 (Third Prize) respectively. These prizes were awarded by the Honorable Chief Minister of the state, Shri Trivendra Singh Rawar on 29 February 2020.
