Dehradun Smart City Limited, Government of Uttarakhand, partnered with SDC Foundation to design and implement a one-month citizen outreach campaign to create a child-friendly Dehradun. SDC Foundation assisted DSCL in formulating citizen engagement modules, conduct stakeholder consultations and city surveys, with the larger aim of making Dehradun a child-friendly city. SDC Foundation also assisted DSCL in rolling out a one-month long competition wherein Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and colonies in Dehradun were given different activities to prove their level of child-friendliness. SDC Foundation prepared the metrics and framework for the competition. The top three winners were awarded by the DSCL and given prizes by Nobel Peace Prize recipient Kailash Satyarthi on 29 February 2020.
