Prerna Raturi is an independent writer and editor with two decades of experience in print and digital media. She contributes to publications such as the Business Standard, DNA, Outlook, Open, Fast track, and others. Known for simplifying the complex and translating jargon in easy-to-understand language, Prerna leans in for issues such as gender equality, and the pressing problems of deforestation, migration, and sustainable tourism in the hill state of Uttarakhand.
As a co-founder of Sustainable Green Initiative, a social enterprise which plants fruit trees in community lands to alleviate hunger, poverty, and climate change; Prerna is actively involved in strategizing tree planting projects and reaching out to beneficiaries at the grassroots.
Prerna has also worked with Action India, a Delhi-based feminist NGO and has produced two books – one on the girl child and another on AIDS/HIV awareness among youth. She has a Masters degree in English literature from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University.
