Change begins at a young age. This is what drives the I Change My City (ICMyC) Challenge conceptualised by Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship & Democracy. As their city partners for Dehradun, SDC Foundation took the challenge to ten schools over a three month period.
On December 10th, more than 30 school students interacted with the Municipal Commissioner in Dehradun. The bureaucrat was open minded and made several commitments. The young ones got an opportunity to interact directly with a senior, IAS government functionary. It was also their first time at the Municipal Corporation which is the nerve centre for urban governance for any city in the country.
As facilitators of this student to government exchange, we stand committed to take the process ahead. These small but consistent efforts are bound to yield results!
