SDC Foundation release it’s latest report “Impact of Urbanisation on Doon Valley” on 26th December 2018. Niharika Singh, a postgraduate student of environment from TERI University, New Delhi has compiled the report under the mentorship of the highly knowledgable Dr. RBS Rawat, Former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Head of Forest Force, Govt. of Uttarakhand for the study..The Doon Valley, spread across 2200 Square Kilometres in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand, has undergone significant changes during the past two decades. The report focusses on changes in the land use and land cover pattern, municipal solid waste, biomedical waste, sewage management, transport, tourism, temperature, rainfall, air quality and noise levels in the Valley. The report, based on secondary data, is a treasure trove of numbers and analysis for the ecologically sensitive Doon Valley.
