[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), Dehradun Chapter and SDC Foundation, jointly organized a workshop over the weekend on “Role of Communication in Citizen Engagement for Dehra Dun Smart City”. The workshop witnessed the participation of Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, Director General of Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology, Govt. of Uttarakhand; Mr. Ramesh Bhatt, Media Advisor to Chief Minister, Uttarakhand; members of PRSI and several other engaged citizens.

The work shop emphasized on the importance of having enhanced communication with the citizens of the city. Ultimately, projects like Smart City are for citizens only. They must be made aware of the new infrastructure and facilities that will be provided to them under the new scheme. Most importantly, an efficient communication system does not only lay down the foundation for good governance, but also generates the participation from citizens. And to make Dehra Dun a Smart City, citizen participation remains the key area.
