Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy (www.janaagraha.org) and SDC Foundation sign MoU to work together for improving the urban governance in Dehradun

We feel happy in sharing such a positive and a major development with all of you. Team SDC on 29 August 2018 entered into a collaboration with Janaagraha, which is a Bangalore based organization working in the domain of urban reforms and governance. We are really glad to be their first city partner for Network City System Reforms (NCSR). The MoU is for two years.

Janaagraha is a pioneer organization when it comes to understanding and solving the complex urban issues of our cities today. It has worked with the central government for the creation of Swachh Bharat Mission, India Mobile Application (also known as Swachhata Mobile App). They have also been advocating and introducing new forms of decentralized municipal finance. Janaagraha has been working with the state governments of Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Karnataka and Chattisgarh.

Now, together, we will try to work with the state government and Municipal Corporation of Dehradun to improve the present system of urban governance in the city. Citizen engagement will remain at the core of all the activities. We are thankful to the Urban Development Dept. and Nagar Nigam of Dehradun for their warm response.
