A MoU has been signed between CSIR-IIP (Council of Scientific & Industrial Research – Indian Institute of Petroleum), Dehradun and SDC Foundation. IIP has been working on a revolutionary and completely new technology that enables it to convert 1,000 Kg of plastic waste into high-quality diesel (BS-VI). IIP has been working on the technology for several years and is now ready to scale it up with a 1 Ton (1,000 Kg) per day plant. The plant will convert 1,000 Kg of plastic into 800 litres of high-quality diesel.
The IIP and SDC collaboration through this MoU and collaboration provides innovative platforms for citizens, corporates, institutions and the government to create their own mini-platforms for plastic segregation and collection. We have seen in our own experience that if we are able to provide alternatives to individuals and communities, they have the capacity to rise to our expectations.
