We partnered with the Dehradun Smart City Limited, the Uttarakhand government Smart City SPV to conduct a series of five-citizen engagement and outreach programs. We reached out to more than 1500 citizens, largely the young population in the city, and sought to engage deeply with them through the Dehradun Smart City Talks.

The results have been encouraging. Citizens have overwhelmingly expressed their desire to stay connected with the progress of the building of the Smart City. More than 80% have offered to volunteer. Citizens have come out with enthusiasm and shared feedback, which can be vital for the development of the city in the near future.

The talks had quite a few differentiators. They were largely plastic and paper free. Participants registered through Google links and QR codes. 42 youngsters were appointed as Brand Ambassadors. Students and faculty vowed to stay committed to the cause of the building of the Smart City of Dehradun. Hope we are able to build further on this, engaging consistently with the citizens, and involving them as equal stakeholders in the progress of the city.
