After the immense success of the first phase of the campaign, DSCL and SDC Foundation together executed the second phase of the Plastic Wapsi Abhiyaan – a Plastic Waste Management Campaign – with 20 government schools and more than 5000 students. The campaign was conducted from 2 September 2019 to 2 October 2019. Students ended up collecting 555 kgs of plastic waste. The campaign was aimed to make students aware of the side effects of single-use plastics. The campaign helped students in understanding various categories of plastic waste and ensure its proper recycling. Finally, top three students and top three schools were awarded by DSCL for their outstanding performance.
