Uttarakhand Forest Department, Uttarakhand Environment Protection and Pollution Control Board (UEPPCB) and SDC Foundation complete 11-day campaign on the occasion of World Environment Day 2018.

We want to thank the citizens of Uttarakhand for giving such a warm response to the 11-day long campaign which was organized on the occasion of world environment day. India was appointed as the Global Host for this year’s environment day. As a part of this campaign, we organized film screening sessions, digital essay competition, press meet, cloth bag distribution drive and much more. Finally, the campaign was concluded on 5 June 2018 with a state level event. Hon’ble CM of Uttarakhand Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat was the Chief Guest. Several Keynote speakers like Shri S.P. Subudhi (Member Secretary, UEPPCB), Shri Jai Raj (PCCF and HoFF, Forest Department, Government of Uttarakhand), Shri Vipin Kumar Jain (known as Plasticman) and Dr. Sanath (Scientist G, Indian Institute of Petroleum) also participated in the event.

At last, we just want to request people to give up single-use plastics and move towards more green and sustainable options. The environment is suffering a lot because of our negligent and careless behavior.
