SDC Signs MoU with HNB Garhwal University

SDC Foundation will collaborate with Srinagar, Garhwal-based Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (Central University) in the field of waste management, climate change, sustainable development, etc.

An MoU to this effect was signed in Srinagar, Garhwal by Garhwal University Registrar and Dean & Director, Centre for Mountain Tourism & Hospitality Studies Prof. Rakesh Kumar Dhodi and SDC Founder Anoop Nautiyal.

According to the agreement, HNB Garhwal University and SDC Foundation will work together in the field of sustainable development goals, climate change, waste management, circular economy, sustainable urbanization and citizen engagement. Both will work together to promote scientific temper and create awareness in Uttarakhand. Along with this, social audits on citizen centric issues will be undertaken with findings being used to aid the policy formulation process in the state of Uttarakhand.

During the agreement period, both parties will work together in the field of research, educational activities as well as disposal of solid, plastic and e-waste. The parties will work to ensure public participation in various fields. Under the MoU; dialogues, seminars, workshops etc. will also be organized. These activities will be designed in such a way that they can help in policy making in Uttarakhand and Himalayan states.

Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University's Prof. Rakesh Kumar Dhodi termed the MoU agreement as being a constructive initiative. He hoped that with the collaboration of SDC Foundation, improved outcomes could be achieved in various fields including plastic waste management and sustainable development goals, which will prove beneficial for the state and society in the coming times.
